Dylan doubles up at Donington

SDPG British Superbikes:

Superpole:

In the first superpole session of the year it was Dylan that took the pole position with a time of 1:25.038 with Mason G in P2 with a 1:25.254 and Adam rounded out row 1. Brett could only manage a P5 with champion rival Ted down in P8 on the grid. This was set up nicely for race 1

 

Race 1:

The race got underway with a good start from Dylan making sure he kept the lead. Mason G managed to get up to P2 with Brett upto P3 from 5th on the grid. Ted was making progress gaining 3 places on lap 1. Into Melbourne loop Ted overcooked it and tried to outbrake Brett and Adam. Fortunately for the MOLTED R5L Yamaha rider returned back on track still in P5. Outfront it was Mason G and Dylan fighting for P1. On lap 2 through the Starkeys Bridge section Ted hit the deck and dropped to P6 but this wasn't going to be the only incident of the race. Adam was having a strong start to race 1 and was in P3. Into Foggy Esses Mason G managed to get through passed Dylan but a corner later Mason crashed and helped Dylan to a 3.5 second lead. Adam was still in P3 just ahead of Brett whilst Ted got back upto P5. On lap 4 it was the turn of the number 1 of Dylan to tip off at the esses. Once again Mason G was upto first with Dylan and Adam not far behind. Dylan was strong on the brakes into redgate to retake the lead from Mason G. On lap 5 Brett nearly wiped out Adam at Melbourne loop. At Goddards however Adam tucked the front on the RK BMW. Ted had kept himself out of trouble after his crash earlier on and was upto 4th. Dylan was a second to the good out front ahead of Mason G but into Melbourne loop the race leader crashed out and dropped to P3. Mason G was on the edge of peformance and at Mcleans he went over the limit and crashed. After this it was a CS Autos Ducati 1-2 with Brett leading, Dylan second and Ted in third. Onto lap 8 and Dylan was all over the back of his teammate Brett and on the back straight under the ghost of the dunlop bridge Brett let Dylan through. Just before this Ted crashed at the Craner Curves dropping him to P6. Mason G had recovered well upto P3 with Adam still holding an impressive P4. The battle for P5 was between Joe and Ted. Into coppice Ted forced his way past Joe into P5. Mason G had managed to get himself back upto within a second of Brett on the final lap. Drama with a few corners to go. Dylan outbroke himself into the Foggy Esses but he didn't gain an advantage and he kept his P1. His first win in 5 races Dylan was back on the top step for the first time since race 1 at Brands Hatch Indy. It was a 1-2 for the CS Autos Ducati team with Brett in P2 and Mason G rounding out the podium. It was a P4 for Adam who also won the pathway class. P5 for SuperTed was a good recovery ride considering what happened earlier in the race. Joe was in P6 with Arron in P7, Mason Roth in P8, Charlie in P9 and Gian rounding out the field.

 

Race 2:

Off the start it was another good start from Yorkshires Toprak but it was Brett that took the holeshot but he overdid it at Redgate meaning Mason G took the lead with Ted behind in P2 and Dylan in third but Ted crashed at Craner curves. Gian was then promoted upto P3 after a solid start to the race and keeping out of trouble. Joe then made his move at Old Hairpin on Gian and was upto third. Mason G was leading ahead of Dylan and Joe. Brett and Ted was in P6 and P7 respectively. Brett had managed to get passed Gian and Mason Roth. He was upto 4th at the end of lap 1. Dylan was keeping Mason honest out front whilst Joe was sliding across the track at Mcleans which promoted Brett upto 3rd. Gian was holding a great P4 in his best ride of the season. Ted was closing up to his teammate Joe and got the move done into Goddards. Brett made a mistake and promoted Gian upto P3 and Ted got upto 4th. He took P3 from Gian and was pulling away from his championship rival Brett when Gian crashed at Craner curves. Joe was having a good ride in P5 in a battle with Mason Roth. At the chequered flag it was Mason G that took his second win of the season ahead of Dylan in P2 and Ted was back on the podium in 3rd. 

 

Race 3:

The third and final race of the weekend started in dramatic fashion with championship leader Brett being wheeled off the grid aswell and Mason Roth and Jamie. Dylan took the wholeshot on the CS Autos Ducati ahead of Ted and Gian. Mason quickly dispatched of Gian and then Ted crashed! The battle for third was on between Joe and Gian. Mason G crashed at the Foggy Esses helping Dylan open up a 2 second advantage over Joe. Gian also tipped off at the esses and in the process his bike took out Adam. Mason G was upto third just behind Teammate Joe. He briefly got upto P2 but once again the MOLTED R5L Yamaha was on the floor. Arron on the Exact Moves Kawasaki was lying in third whilst Ted made a move on Adam for P6. Arron made a mistake at Goddards helping Mason G and gave him P3. Arron crashed at the Esses and Ted was upto fourth. Joe was still in a strong ride in P2. Mason however crashed at the esses helping him upto P3. Ted on one of his usual stella recovery rides. Gian, Mason G and Adam we're in a tough scrap for P4. Ted was closing on Joe and the gap was 0.6 seconds. Ted made his move on lap 10 down into the Foggy Esses and was upto P2. Meanwhile on his lonesome outfront controling the gap was Dylan nearly 10 seconds to the good and he went onto take the win. Mason G was struggling down in P5 after two good races earlier in the weekend. At the chequered flag it was Dylan that took the win ahead of SuperTed and front row Joe got his first superbike podium in P3

 

AMI Electrics British Supersport:

Qualifying:

In qualifying for the supersport class it was Neil that grabbed pole position with a lap time of 1:27.291 which he set in the early part of the qualifying session. In P2 was Kalan making the most of the fact that his championship rival Connor was not out in qualifying. Kalan did a time of 1:27.580 just a tenth ahead of Jack on the MV. The in form rider of supersport Scott was at the head of row 2. 

 

Sprint Race:

Before the lights went out Kalan was once again pushed off the grid likewise Jack on the MV Augusta. That promoted Scott and Liam onto the front row. Off the line it was a good start for the number 88 of Neil but contact with Liam down hollywood left the Honda on the floor on lap 1. Logan had a fantastic start and was upto second. Connor was upto third from the back of the grid. Connor made a move on Logan into the Foggy Esses and then went past Neil on the exit of the Esses. Haydn was upto 4th at the end of lap 1. Logan unfortunately crashed at the Schwantz Curve dropping him to P6. Haydn and Guy we're battling for P3 with Guy taking the position into the Melbourne Loop. On lap 3 Haydn tooked the front at Redgate with Scott crashing half a lap later. Logan had gained a position and was running 4th ahead of the two HPR machines. Connor made a mistake promoting Neil to P1. Guy was running in a strong P3 on the CS Autos triumph. Connor ran wide at the Old Hairpin assisting Guy upto P2. Logan was in a titanic battle with Scott and Liam until the number 5 HPR machine crashed at the Melbourne Loop. Guy and Connor we're engaging in the P2 battle with Connor taking the position into the Foggy Esses. But on the last lap Connor crashed and handed P2 to Guy but it was the KRP Racing Yamaha of Neil that took his first victory with SDPG ahead of Guy and Connor. Logan finished in an impressive P5 behind Liam and ahead of Scott.

 

Feature Race: 

In the feature race there was an incident at turn 1 on lap 1 involving Connor, Guy and Neil. Guy ended up crashing and taking Neil off the circuit. Through Mcleans it was Connor leading ahead of Liam and Scott in P3. Three Hondas in the top three. Kalan was fighting his way up through the order and was lying in P6 when Liam made a move on Connor at Melbourne Loop with a bit of contact between the two APR Honda riders. Logan was upto P4 with the two KRP Racing Yamahas behind. Into Mcleans on lap 3 Kalan made his move on Logan and was upto P4. Connor made an unbelievable overtake on Liam going round the outside of Liam at the Melbourne loop. The three Hondas out front we're covered by 1.6 seconds outfront. Kalan, Logan and Ash we're squabbling over P4 with Kalan having the advantage. Connor was 2.5 seconds up on Liam on lap 6 and barring a mistake it looked like he would take the victory. The field was fairly spread out on lap 8. Having said that Scott was keeping Liam honest for that P2. Ash was also keeping Logan honest for that P5 with the battle lasting a good number of laps. Ash managed to get up to P5 past Logan through the Foggy Esses. However Ash made a mistake at the Old hairpin and gave the position back to Logan. Outfront though it was Connor that took the win in the feature race ahead of Liam and Scott. Kalan recovered well to P4 with Logan in P5

 

SDPG Ducati Monster 1200 Cup:

Qualifying:

In qualifying for the Ducatis it was Connor that took the pole position ahead of Liam and Scott. We had two new members to the grid in Dylan who was lining up in P5 and Leon who is a fromer British Superbike rider qualified in P12. 

 

Race: 

14 riders lined up on the gird for Ducatis and through the first sector it was chaos. The lead changed multiple times with riders crashing. Somehow Connor got to the front with Adam, Dylan and Joe. Joe and Dylan made contact through the Schwantz curve with Joe crashing and Dylan running off the track and dropped to P7. Connor crashed at Foggy Esses and dropped to P3. Adam took the lead ahead of Mason G. Joe was on the charge in P4. Ollie was having a strong ride in P6 just ahead of Liam in P7. Mason G had company in the form of Connor hot on his his heals. The top 3 were seperated by 0.7 of a second until Mason G crashed at Coppice. Adam and Connor were left to battle it out for P1. Connor got it wrong on the exit of Goddards with a huge tank slapper throwing him off his machine. This helped Mason G up to P2. On the final lap however Connor made another mistake which dropped him to P5. Adam just about hung onto P1 took take his first win of the season ahead of Mason G with Liam in P3.

 

Rider of the round:

The rider of the round for Donington is Logan. 2x 5th places is a step in the right direction for the MOLLTED R5L Yamaha rider. We hope to see Logan on the box very soon
