Scotty too hot to handle

Scott clinches the win in the I hour of Oulton Park

Qualifying:

In the 15 minute qualifying session it was Arron who managed to top the times with a lap time of 1:32.097 ahead of Liam in P2 with a 1:32.335 and Kalan rounding out row with a time of 1:32.368. The session was frantic with the pole changing multiple times in the space of a few minutes

Race:

The race started in the darkness and off the line it was Liam on a 2014 Yamaha R1 that took the early lead with Arron hot on his heals with a strong start from Logan putting him in P3 and Scott in 4th. Arron made a mistake at Old Hall and invited Logan upto P2. Liam crashed at Brittens promoting Scott upto P1 after he overtook Logan at the same time as Liam crashed. Logan was keeping up with Scott and Kalan was keen to close the gap to the top 2. The battle for fourth was between Liam, Arron, Izaak and Dalton. Just over 5 minutes in Scott and Arron both hit the deck at Island bend. Logan was upto P2 but he crashed at Old Hall corner after a strong start to the race. 10 minutes into the race and the sun was starting to show itself. Daylight was upon us. Arron was holding a good P3 with Dalton not far behind. 14 minutes into the race and the first pit stop of the race for the number 73 of Izaak. He boxed for a fresh set of slick tyres and a full tank of fuel. He was the first rider to make a pitstop in the race. Kalan was leading ahead of Scott. The gap was hovering around the 3.6 second mark which it had been doing for 10 minutes. Liam was in P3 ahead of Arron on the big kawasaki. Scott had closed the gap slightly on Kalan outfront. Just over 20 minutes in the first of the front runners boxed. The rain was in the air. Arron and Liam both boxed and fitted slick tyres. At this point in the race Kalan was nearly 5 seconds to the good and this was the time when the rain arrived. Kalan fitted slick tyres and he didn't take on any fuel. Jordan and Vinnie went onto wet tyres even though the track wasn't fully wet. Liam also boxed and went for a wet front slick rear. Scott pitted a lap later and took on the wet tyres whilst Kalan boxed along with Dalton and Joe. Kalan and Joe went onto wets however a mistake by Daltons pit crew meant the wet tyres weren't ready for him so he had to go out on slicks with the track getting wetter. Jordan took advantage of pitting early and was up to third on the Aprilia. Joe and Dalton were P4 and 5. Half and hour into the race and it Joe upto P3 and Vinnie in P4. Vinnie also had the mother of all saves out of lodge corner. A great save. With 20 minutes to go the track was drying and Liam was the first to box for slicks and a full fuel tank. Scott and Kalan were engaging in battle. The gap was under a second. Jordan boxed a lap later than Liam and went on the slick tyres. With track drying out it looked like a good call. It was all about timing it right to go onto slicks. With 15 minutes to go Arron and Vinnie both pitted for fresh tyres and another tank of fuel. Scott then sold Kalan the dummy meaning that it looked like he was going to pit to try trick Kalan but both riders stayed out. Joe pitted for Slicks and fuel. Joe was looking good for a P3 finish. With 13 minutes to go Scott ran out of road at Druids and went grass tracking. Kalan took the lead and took to the pit lane for slick tyres and fuel. Scott went through and carried on. The track was nearly dry. Could Kalan make the most of the slick tyres and keep the lead when Scott pitted. Well we would find out soon enough. Scott pitted the lap after Kalan for slicks. Scott put 58% fuel in the tank. This meant Scott lead when he came out the pits by 6.5 seconds. Could Kalan close the gap? Joe was still holding P3 with Aaron on the Yamaha behind and Jordan not far behind. Kalan was pushing the KRP Racing Yamaha to the limit and unfortunately he ran off the track at Druids and lost his chance to fight for the win. Joe was in P3 and that's where he would finish the race ahead of Liam on the 2014 Yamaha. At the Chequered flag it was Scott that took his first SDPG win ahead of Kalan by 9.6 seconds. Well done to all the riders
