Carnage at Oulton Park

Well Oulton Park. What an event. Not the best weather over the weekend but the riders did a good job dealing with the conditions.

SDPG British Superbikes:

Qualifying:

In qualifying it was Dylan once again who took another pole postion for race 1 on the CS Autos Factory Ducati with a time of 1.30.175  which once again backs up his recent form over the one lap. In P2 was Brett making it a Ducati 1-2 out front with a time of 1:30.277 just over a tenth away from the fastest time. Mason G back after a round away ronded out row 1 ahead of Super Ted who headed row 2. Charlie managed to take top honours in the pathway class in P5 ahead of Kristian who was less than 0.02 off Charlie. Arron wasnt far away on the Exact Moves Kawasaki.

Race 1:

Starting in P1 Dylan was in the right postion to capaltilise on the difficult Brands Hatch. Before race 1 the rain came meaning the riders had the weather to deal with aswell as eachother. The race got underway and the bad luck for Dylan was on show. He struggled to get the panigale off the line with the Ducati spinning up and sending Dylan towards the back. Mason G made a great start but contact with Brett at Old Hall Corner sending his top step chances into the tyre wall. It was Kristian that managed to get through the melee at turn 1 and lead the first few laps with Ted in P2 and Dylan recovering upto P3. The top 8 were covered by 4 seconds in the opening stages to this one. On lap 2 Dylan made his way upto P2 and he was looking like the Dylan of old. Charlie was not far behind be the top 4. We were thinking Charlie could fight Kristian for top honours in pathway and overall. Dylan attempted a move on Kristian into Island bend and went grass tracking. Dylan dropped down to P5 but was hanging in there. Brett was just keeping his powder dry in P3 and just ticking the laps off. Dylan made a mistake and dropped to P6 and was a fair way back from the top 5. Mason G was starting to make moves and close up to Charlie. Half race distance and Kristian ran wide at Druids handing the lead to Ted. Lap 6 and Brett got the bike out of shape under braking into turn 1. He made contact with Kristian and crashed but he only dropped to P4. Charlie was upto P2 and was looking like a podium was on the cards. Charlie unfortuantly crashed on lap 7 at Old hall promoting Kristian back to P2 and Mason G upto P3. On the final lap Kristian tucked the front at Shell oils and he crashed out of the podium place. The top 3 crossing the line was Ted with teammate Mason G not far behind in P2 a 1-2 for the MOLTED SFB Electrical yamaha team. Brett rounded out the podium. on the CS Autos Ducati. A bit further down the order it was Dylan taking P6 ahead of Adam in P7, Mason Roth the HPR machne in P8, Joe on his debut in superbike in P9 and Gian rounded out the points scorers

Race 2:
Starting on pole was Ted alongside Mason G with Brett rounding out row 1. Reserve rider Shay was starting at the back of the grid and would he a threat. Off the line it was Brett who forced his way to the front with Dylan making moves upto P2. Mason G got collected at turn 1 and he crashed at turn 1. Ted kept out of trouble to hold P3 until Shell Oils where Dylan slipped off the Ducati. Unfortunately for Dylan Gian ran wide and went on the grass and when he rejoined unfortunately he collided with the Ducati and they both hit the deck. Out front though Shay was piling the pressure on Brett and through Hizzys he made his move for the front. Into lodge corner Shay tucked the front and dropped to the back of the pack. Charlie managed to climb up to P3 and was running in a solid podium position. Mason Roth was also running in the top 4 and hanging on to the top lads. Mason G and Joe we're scrapping over P7 with Mason getting the better of Joe on that occasion. Out front it was the two title chargers battling for P1. On lap 4 they came to blows with Ted clipping the back of Brett at Island bend and dropped the Yamaha. He rejoined in P7. Half race distance and Brett had a 1.6 second advantage over Charlie in P2 and Mason G upto P3. Ted slipped off the Yamaha again a little bit further back and demoted himself to P7. Adam was having a strong ride in P6 7.5 seconds off the top spot. Shay had managed to climb up to P5 and hunting down Mason Roth and on lap 6 he made his move. Charlie had managed to hold of the immense pressure by Mason G however Mason wasn't going to give Charlie P2 and on lap 8 he made his move into Island bend. Mason G was trying to close down the gap to Brett and he was closing Ashby's finest by 0.8 seconds on lap 9. On the final lap though Mason G crashed out of P2. He would manage to grab a P3 in the end due to a mistake by Charlie with only a couple of corners to go. That incident promoted Shay to P2 and a P3 for Mason G. Charlie recovered upto to P4 a great ride none the less. Mason Roth had one of his best finishes of the season. On the coterie for Ted who had his worst result of the season in P6 with a P7 for Dylan and Adam in P8 on the RK BMW. P9 for Front row Joe and Arron in P10. Gian just missed out on points in the end. Kristian got pushed off the grid with his first DNF/S of the season

Race 3:

The final superbike race of the weekend was dry and it was a strong front row of Brett, Shay and Mason G. Off the start it was the Duati of Brett who got the whole shot. An issue with the other factory Ducati of Dylan into turn 1 took out 4-5 riders. Brett was setting the early pace with Ted not far behind in P2 and Mason G in P3. Arron on the Exact Moves Kawasaki was in P4 having managed to avoid the first corner carnage. But at Island bend he crashed dropping him to the back of the pack. Only a matter of seconds later it was Ted that hit the deck. It looked like he got the wrong side of the crub and he fired himself and the Yamaha to the moon. Meanwhile Joe had managed to make his way upto P3 with Gian on the Edenflaw BMW Motorrad in P4. Charlie had managed to climb up to P5 but on lap 2 a huge crash for the SDPG racing Honda rider nearly caused carnage for Kristian, Ted and Adam as Charlies bike thundered into the track. Luckily everyone managed to avoid the flying Honda. Shay was managing to make progress. He had worked his way upto P6 and was looking good for a top 5. On lap 4 it was Mason G who took the lead ffrom Brett. The battle for third was heating up between Joe and Kristian. Joe had a huge moment on the exit of Old Hall handing P3 to Kristian. On lap Brett made a rare mistake at Druids promoting Kristian to P2. Ted and Dylan also having tip off. The titanic trio all having issues in a matter of seconds. Unfortunatly that would be the last we would see of Dylan due to a mechanical issue with the CS Autos Factory Ducati. Shay was closing the gap to the top 3 in P4. Mason G had a 6 second gap over the squabling duo. Shay had caught Kristian and Brett up. He had picked Brett off into Hizzys. Kristian however dropped the RK BMW at Cascades on lap 10. In terms off the top 3 there would be no change before the chequered flag. Mason G took his first win of the season ahead of Shay who certainly showed himself and the BMW in a positive light. Brett managed to hold off a late charge from Kristian to take a P3 ahead of the leading pathway machine. The other two MOLTED SFB Electrical Yamahas finished in P5 and P6 with Ted finishing ahead of Joe. Adam took P2 in pathway and P7 overall. A good weekend for the RK BMW rider. Charlie finished in P8 with Arron and Gian rounding out the field. Mason Roth had a technical issue with the HPR machine and retired from the race.

AMI Electrics British Supersport:

Qualifying:

Qualifying for the supersport was an intense affair. Conner was languishing down the order for most of the session but with a few minutes to spare. The APR Honda man managed to post a time of 1:33.097 which was a second faster than the rest of the field. Scott managed to put his HPR Machine on the front row in P2. A 1:34.088 for the scottsman a great peformance by Scott. Liam rounded out row 1 0.7 of a second behind P2. A great debut for the CS Autos Triumph team with Corey in P4 Guy in P5, Ollie in P6 and a P7 for Jordan. Haydn and Logan rounded out the grid. Technical issues for the newly formed KRP Racing Yamahas meant Kalan and Neil didint manage to get a lap on the board meaning they would be at the back for the sprint race

Sprint race:

A wet sprint race would provide havoc for the supersport riders. Off the start it was Conner who took the holeshot with the front row managing to hang to their positions. Kalan and Neil had got themselves upto P4+P5. Liam made it an APR HONDA 1-2 with a strong move on Scott at Hizzys. On lap 2 Kalan was fighting with Liam and Scott where unfortuantly he crashed at turn 1 on lap 2. Just clipping the curb and tooking the front on the Yamaha. Neil had managed to keep it rubber side down and found himself upto P4. Jack on the AMI Electrics MV Augusta was lying in P6 with Ash in P7. Scott went for a move on Liam at Hizzys and crashed in the process. He managed to only drop one position and down to P4. Scott was certainly showing a good pace upto that point. Neil was in P3 but he made a mistake at Druids which cost him time. He fell into the clutches of Scott who on lap 3 got past Neil into Island bend. Liam tipped off at Island which helped Scott, Neil and Kalan upto P2,P3 and P4. The battle for P3 was between the two KRP Racing Yamahas of Neil and Kalan. Jack was also joining the fight to make it a 6 wheeler. Neil ran onto the grass at Druids again on lap 5 promoting Kalan to P3 and Jack was scraping with Neil for P4. Jack and Neil were side by side for nearly a full lap until into Druids contact between the pair left Neil on the deck. Kalan was giving Scott a run for his money onto the last lap they went and it was the battle for P2 that was keeping us on the edge of our seats. Kalan managed to take P2 at Old Hall. The battle would rage on all the way to the flag with Kalan taking P2 and Scott just missed out but took his first podium of the season. Conner took a lights to flag victory to win by just shy of 10 seconds. Jack and Liam managed a P4 and P5 respectively. Corey was P6 on his debut in Supersport just ahead of teammate Ollie in P7. Neil managed a P8 with Ash and Jordan rounding out the field.

Feature race:

In the feature race there was drama. Even before the start of the race our championship leader was in trouble. Kalan was pushed off the grid meaning no points scored in the feature. Off the start it was Scott challenging Conner down to turn 1 but the APR Honda rider managed to keep ahead as they went down towards Casacdes for thd first time. The CS Autos triumphs of Corey and Ollie were running in P2 and P3 adter Scott ran wide at Island bend. However at Hizzys Corey clipped the grass and tucked the front. That promoted Liam up to P3 and George was looming in the battle. At Cascades Ollie ran out of track and crashed. When he rejoined however there was huge contact with Jack which dropped him to the back. The battle for P2 was between Liam on the APR Honda and George on the AMI Electrics MV Augusta. Neil was having a good showing in P4 with Scott hot on his heals. Neil did chuck the KRP Racing Yamaha at the scenery at Druids. On lap 5 George managed to get the better of Liam. A strange crash for Corey out of Druids where over the crest he had a wheelie that went a bit too far and it threw him off the rear of the CS Autos Triumph. Lap 7 and Liam had made a mistake at Old Hall and dropped into the clutches of Jack. Through Cascades there was contact between the pair and Jack bit the dust. Conner had a convincing lead on lap 8. He was 7.2 seconds to the good over George and Scott. A lap later and Liam made another mistake and once again battled with Jack until they got round to Shell oils where contact between the pair of them multiple times and the final bit of contact sent Liam to the medical centre and he retired from the race. At the chequred flag Conner took a dominating victory. He won by 17.4 seconds ahead of George and Scott rounded out the podium. Jack was P4 with Neil and Ash close behind. Jordan managed to round out a solid weekend in P7

SDPG Ducati Monster 1200 Cup:

Qualifying:

In qualifying it was Conner who dominated qualifying ahead of Liam and Scott rounding out row 1. Kristian only managed a P7 in qualifying. It looked like he was in for a tough race.

Race:

As 15 riders headed off the line it was Conner who once again lead into turn 1. At cascades however lots of contact meant half of the grid went down. Vinnie had a strong start and was in P3 however into Hizzys Adam changed that and demoted Vinnie to P4. Vinnie did hit the deck at Hizzys on lap 2 and the domino affect of that was a pile up at Hizzys. Adam had worked his way to upto P2 ahead of Liam with Charlie in P4. The battle between Adam and Liam came to blows at Hizzys with both riders running off the track but they both stayed on the machines. The battle for P6 was between Charlie and Kristian  and a battle was brewing for P4 between Joe and Jack. Both had solid results in their earlier races and having a good end to their events. On lap 6 at turn 1 Adam crashed and fortunatley for him he only dropped to P3. Liam ran wide but was upto P2. On lap 7 Adam made a mistake assisting Jack upto P3. On the final lap there was a 4 way battle for P4. Mason G, Joe, Adam and Kristian. Joe was holding the position until Mason G made a move at Hizzys. Adam and Joe both tipped off at Hizzys which promoted Kristian to P5 and was a good damage limitation round. Conner took the win ahead of Liam and Jack picked up a podium.

Rider of the round:

Our rider of the round was Conner. A great weekend by Conner meaning he leads both of his championships heading into Donington
